Sally Jiang
Sally is a second-year graduate student. She graduated from Yale University in May 2023 with a degree in Astrophysics and a certificate in Data Science. As a native New Yorker (Brooklynite?), she enjoys exploring art museums, watching Broadway shows, urban photography, and cycling in protected bike lanes.
Alexandra Masegian
Alexandra is a PhD student in the Department of Astronomy. She's broadly interested in stellar astrophysics, especially evolved stars and binaries. Outside of science, she enjoys reading and writing science fiction, exploring national parks, and cooking elaborate meals.
Jennifer Mead
Jen is a graduate student in the Department of Astronomy. She studies the chemical fingerprints left behind by the very first stars in the universe. When not doing research, she is passionate about teaching, education, and gardening.
Lori Porter
Lori is a PhD student in the Astronomy Department. She works on the effect of stellar feedback on galaxies, unlocking the mysteries of how they form and evolve. Outside of astronomy, Lori is fond of her growing houseplant collection and baking for anyone in the vicinity.
Amanda Quirk
Amanda is the Outreach Coordinator and a Lecturer in Discipline at Columbia.
James Sullivan

Kiyan Tavangar
Kiyan is a PhD student in the Astronomy Department. He studies Galactic Dynamics and the Milky Way. He also enjoys teaching, playing/watching sports, and hanging out with his cat.
Justin Vega
Justin is a second year PhD student in the Department of Astronomy, with interests in detectability and statistical tools in observations. You can often find him exploring new restaurants throughout the city, writing music, or working the tech and livestream for public lectures.
Selina Yang
Selina was an undergraduate majoring in Astrophysics in the Astronomy Department. She is interested in compact body mergers, binary evolution, and instrumentation. Selina is known among her friends for rescuing dying/neglected grocery store plants. She also put a lot of effort into phone photography. She is now a graduate student at Cornell Physics.
